PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
PARENT CODE OF CONDUCT
Parents and guardians play an important role in creating a positive environment for our athletes. These standards apply at practices, games, tournaments, team events, and in team-related communication, including texts, group messages, and social media. Parents are expected to share these expectations with family members and guests attending on their athlete's behalf.
Parent Conduct
Conduct yourself respectfully and appropriately while representing Impact Gold Fastpitch. Treat players, coaches, parents, opponents, umpires, and event staff with respect.
Do not use profanity, vulgar language, threats, discriminatory remarks, or abusive behavior at team activities or in team-related communication.
Encourage athletes and demonstrate good sportsmanship. Yelling at umpires, arguing with spectators, and disruptive or aggressive behavior are unacceptable. Coaches will address game-related concerns with officials.
Do not confront, intimidate, ridicule, or publicly embarrass another player. Concerns involving another athlete must be brought to the coach or organization leadership.
Respect coaches' responsibility for lineups, positions, playing time, and game decisions. Support your athlete without coaching from the stands. Stay out of the dugout and playing area unless authorized or an emergency requires it.
Respect every athlete's development. Do not make demeaning comparisons between players or direct frustration about your child's role toward another athlete or family.
Communication and Concerns
Discuss questions about your athlete's development, role, or team expectations privately with the head coach at an appropriate time. Do not initiate confrontations during games, practices, or in front of players.
If a concern involves the head coach or remains unresolved, contact your area coordinator or organization leadership directly. Issues involving another Impact Gold team should be reported to your area coordinator.
Share specific information and distinguish what you witnessed from what you were told. Allow a reasonable opportunity for review and response.
Report safety concerns, suspected abuse, bullying, harassment, or discrimination promptly. These concerns may be raised directly with organization leadership and appropriate outside authorities.
Social Media and Communication
Use the same respectful behavior in posts, comments, texts, and group messages. Do not threaten, bully, ridicule, or publicly embarrass another person.
Do not knowingly spread false information about others or share private information, images, or messages without permission. You may share relevant information with a trusted adult, organization leadership, or appropriate authorities when asking for help or reporting a concern.
Bring concerns involving another Impact Gold team to your coach or area coordinator. You may always tell a
trusted adult what happened or explain something you are worried about.
Reported Incidents and Consequences
Coaches and organization leadership will review reported violations, considering the player's age, the circumstances, the seriousness of the behavior, and any prior incidents. Players will have an opportunity to
explain what happened. Parents or guardians of minor athletes will be involved in significant disciplinary
decisions.
Consequences may include a discussion, parent or guardian meeting, documented warning, improvement plan,
temporary limits on participation, suspension, or removal from the team or organization. Consequences do not
have to follow a fixed sequence. Serious misconduct may require immediate restrictions while the situation is
reviewed.
Correction must be respectful and appropriate for the player's age. No player may be punished or retaliated against for asking for help, raising a concern in good faith, or participating honestly in a review.
Player and Parent Acknowledgment & Agreement
I have read this code or had it explained to me. By participating on an Impact Gold Fastpitch team, I agree to follow these expectations and ask for help when I need it.
Parent or guardian of a minor athlete: I have reviewed this code with my athlete and agree to support their understanding and compliance. I understand that violations may result in the consequences outlined above.
